One fundamental aspect of responsible wildlife photography I always practice is refraining from geotagging or disclosing specific locations of vulnerable species.

This helps prevent the risk of attracting unwanted attention or disturbing the natural behaviors of the animals.

By keeping the locations discreet and offline, photographers can help preserve the tranquility and privacy of these creatures, allowing them to thrive undisturbed. In some locations, tech savvy poachers scour social media using tourists' geotagged photos to track and kill animals and I think it's our responsibility as wildlife photographers to prioritize leaving nature as we found it and adhere to the principle of "Leave No Trace," ensuring that our presence doesn't harm or disrupt the delicate ecosystems we encounter on our travels.

I also try promoting animal welfare by maintaining a safe distance and never putting animals at risk for the sake of capturing a photograph. It's so important to observe animal behavior to anticipate their reactions and ensure the well-being of both the animals and myself. My telephoto (zoom) lens has been a game changer!
The more I've had the opportunity to encounter these animals in the wild, the more I've become concerned and outspoken about advocating for sustainability and recognizing the the importance of conservation efforts.
So while this page is dedicated to photography, I will always use my work to raise awareness about the beauty and fragility of the natural world and how I personally feel about ethical travel.
